Position Description

The Social Media Content Specialist uses computer software programs to communicate a given message visually by different design elements and creates business graphic marketing collateral throughout the organization. This position plays a critical role in supporting the growth of the brand’s social media portfolio by creating and executing engaging marketing strategies. The Social Media Content Specialist drives social media strategies in support of brand and business goals by both developing the existing organic channels as well as launching new ones. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:


Essential Job Functions:

  • Drive social media strategies in support of brand and business goals by developing the existing organic channels and launching new ones
  • Write, edit, and publish a blog and newsletter in collaboration with digital marketing agency
  • Drive new business to Sales team with a combination of digital marketing campaigns, direct end user market development, and market development
  • Handle SEO and SEM campaigns
  • Manage digital and physical marketing and market development calendar
  • Work with vendors to coordinate marketing campaigns
  • Actively manage the CRM database
  • Work closely with Brand Managers on company communications
  • Develop team member focused marketing and communication pertaining to culture and core values
  • Design client facing proposal templates and marketing materials
  • Develop internal videos for company vision, core values, etc.
  • Lead Social Media strategy, planning, and activation across key social media platforms/tactics including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • Drive key media metrics – sales, traffic, brand lift, - across the marketing funnel to encourage brand, customer acquisition/retention, and brand loyalty
  • Create and execute a content strategy to drive brand awareness, social engagement, and web traffic
  • Manage the social media content calendar and posting schedules for all corporate social platforms, ensuring we are both proactive and reactive to opportunities in real time
  • Produce dynamic content including stills, reels, and videos across all platforms
  • Write the copy/captions for social media, sourcing content, and working with the Corporate Graphic Designer to develop graphics for social
  • Regularly update and interact with all social media channels ensuring proper tags and links are in place on all campaigns
  • Develop weekly and monthly reports that track progress and opportunities
  • Manage budget tracking, invoicing, and accounting for all social media expenditures including influencer payments and social shoot production costs
  • Asist with gift mailing, influencer outreach, etc.
  • Contribute ideas for seasonal activations and marketing support
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field, technical certificate, or foundational courses in graphic design
  • 2+ years’ experience as a graphic designer in the retail industry
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, InDesign, and other graphic design software
  • Proven success in development marketing plans and campaigns
  • Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills
  • Metrics-driven marketing mind with a keen sense of creativity; refined eye for design
  • Experience with marketing automation and CRM tools
  • Working knowledge of photography and skilled in its use in marketing
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication skills
  • Time management skills to work on multiple projects at once with various deadlines
  • Attention to detail to ensure that all customer or team specifications are met and free of errors
  • Creative mindset to bring a design to life with simple instructions
  • Ability to work within an established brand identity system while brining new perspectives and ideas
  • Patience to send creative designs through multiple approval processes and often work with several different people to complete project/job
  • Strong organizational skills to keep up with various client needs or team projects
  • Flexibility to switch between projects or pivot quickly should the requirement of the project change
  • Excellent understanding of the rules of typography
  • Excellent understanding of print production processes
  • Open to constructive criticism and understand its role in the design process
  • Team player, client-oriented and people-focused approach
  • Bilingual in English/French, written and spoken; Spanish a plus

Physical Requirements

Tolerance for sitting long periods of time. Possess finger dexterity to write, type, and use a calculator. Maintain adequate vision to view small print and computer terminal. Ability to speak and hear, walk throughout facilities with occasional light lifting (25 pounds), stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching with hands and arms required. Ability to travel between multiple facilities as required to perform core job duties.
