Come and join us in our start-up business model inside Saga! Saga Spaces has just launched - July 2023! We now need a new addition to our digital innovation team a Digital Content Editor. In this role you will be responsible for the written content going live on our site which will be used by thousands of Saga Spaces subscribers. We are on an ambitious journey to help make connections for our over 50’s audience.
As you can imagine the content will be varied and insightful. Anything from fitness, technology, Health and Wellbeing, latest trends, fashion, the best places to be and be seen, plus so much more. We are working in partnership with big brands, celebrity deals, plus the best health practitioners for our customers.
You will need to be an expert in the delivery of digital written content that compliments our propositional strategy, both engaging audiences and keeps them returning for more.
** Remote/home working ** Saga work a hybrid approach requiring some team days in our King Cross - London office. 1 or 2 days a month.
Main ResponsibilitiesAs the Digital Content Editor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of all written content housed on the Saga Spaces platform, including the identification and commissioning of writers, ensuring delivery to timeframes, sub-editing to ensure factual accuracy, through to adding to the content on the platform itself. You will be responsible for the following;
- Sourcing and commissioning writers and editors to deliver digital written content in line with the strategic plan.
- Ensuring commissioning briefs are clear and understood by writer and editors, reducing re-work to a minimum.
- Ensuring the volume of required written content meets business objectives and retains strategic alignment.
- Coordinating copy submission and approval processes in a timely fashion that meets the needs of the business.
- Onboarding and management of payments to outsourced writers and editors.
- Supporting image research and sourcing to compliment articles.
- Sub editing where required, including fact checking and alignment to brand tone of voice.
- Support of the planning schedule and ideation process.
- Loading of approved articles onto content management systems in time for planned publication.
- Input of data where required into other systems to enable cost and success tracking.
- Acting as a conduit between the Saga Spaces & the wider Saga business where required.
- Prepares and chairs regular meetings for progress review with stakeholders where required.
- Identifies risks and issues and defines actions to mitigate; escalates issues as appropriate.
The Ideal Candidate
We require an exceptional Digital Content Editor to join our fast-growing team in Saga Spaces. You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience;
- Have strong Stakeholder Management skills, with excellent communication / presenting skills.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work in virtual teams and in a matrix organisation.
- Be a natural team player with a great attitude and approach to work deadlines.
- Have passion & creative curiosity for digital written content, understanding SEO best practices.
- Ability to work in fast paced environment.
- Ability to share information, transfer knowledge and expertise to team members.
- Demonstrate good analytical skills.
- Keen to help with the creation of marketing plans and content strategies for the site.
Desirable:
- Previously used a CMS for uploading digital content. (We currently use Contentful.)
