Role: Therapeutic Parent
Hours: Working an average of 47 hours per week in line within a 8/10 week rolling rota. All sleeps are inclusive of the 47 hours per week and paid at your usual hourly rate.
Location: Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire
Salary: £26,000 - £28,500 per annum (dependant on experience and qualifications).
Voluntary Overtime: Payments of 1.5 hours for completed voluntary overtime on weekends and bank holidays.

Halliwell Homes is clinically informed practice encompassing educational, clinical and residential care services. Our objective is to enhance the psychological wellbeing of children within the care system through our Restorative Parenting recovery programme.
The Role:
Working as a Therapeutic Parent you will be a valued member of our team. You will enhance the children’s psychological recovery by being a positive role model, a friend for the children and a positive influence in all aspects of their lives, relationships, social skills, activities, and hobbies. You will be involved in duties such as:
- Supporting the large staff teams with domestic duties such as cooking, cleaning, shopping as well as promoting our children to carry out such tasks themselves.
- Complete and manage paperwork, report writing and record keeping for all children.
- Assisting and be involved with children’s activities and appointments.
- Liaising with our specialised educational teams by attending parent’s evening and school events.
- Representing the organisation and positively reinforcing the Programme when liaising with external professionals.
- Closely work with the Senior Therapeutic Parents and Management Team to ensure the running of the home is to a high standard meeting Ofsted Quality Standards.
- Working with our highly qualified in-house clinical team to advise, support and help deliver the Restorative Parenting® Programme.
The successful candidate will have the following Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must have valid Right To Work in the UK
- Must be aged 18 and above
- Must hold UK Manual Drivers Licence
- Ideally, a graduate with a relevant degree e.g.in Psychology
- Evidence of having a transferable skill that you can bring to the organisation.
- Posses Maths and English (GCSE) C or above (or equivalent).
The successful candidate will have the following Experience:
- Experience working in a setting where skills and knowledge are transferrable in the Therapeutic Parent job role (e.g. Parental style role, youth work, counselling, social work, care work/care-giving)
- Experience working with challenging behaviours/individuals ideally in a residential setting
- Experience in maintaining daily routines
