What will you be doing?
You will lead our Content Design function in Digital and will be responsible for creating and executing a content strategy to support our aim of positioning Vodafone UK as ‘Destination for Advice and Know-How’ as well as delivering content to support a busy commercial trading and promotional calendar.
Our Content Design Chapter consists of around 40 people working across Content Design/Strategy, copywriting, visual design/artworking and content editing/production. The chapter is federated across multiple journey and product squads supporting the entire customer lifecycle, so being able to operate in a matrix structure, build effective partnerships across the various functions (Brand, Product, Marketing etc) is vital.
Reporting into our Head of Experience and Design, you’ll have line management of 4 x Chapter Leads who lead the sub-teams within the Content Design Chapter. You’ll be responsible for working with these Chapter Leads in devising and delivering a coherent, joined-up content strategy across the functions and lifecycle stages, while ensuring our content production activities are delivered on time and to a high standard.
Key Accountabilities:
Create and implement content strategy to be consistently executed by Content Design Chapter across the relevant teams.- Ensure content production for campaigns and commercial calendar executed on time and to high standard.
- Build-out capability for video production and/or animation to diversify content as part of new strategy.
- Build and maintain effective relationships, across peers in Experience and Design function, and outwards into key business functions (Brand, Marketing, Commercial, Product etc).
- Drive a data-led culture within Content Design Chapters incl. SEO insights, A/B testing, utilisation of user research insights.
- Track, analyse and report on performance of content across our journey and product squads.
Who are we looking for?
Experience in developing and executing successful content strategies, preferably in complex organisations.- Deep understanding of both eCommerce and Service/Help content.
- Experience and evidence of driving effective content approaches and production methods (incl video, SEO-rich content and mobile-first, app friendly execution).
- Project and people management experience, with experience mentoring or directly managing other design leaders.
- Capable of building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders of all levels across Digital and the wider business.
