The Global Media Relations Senior Specialist will play a key role in differentiating Deloitte externally through robust media relations activities, including developing strategic relationships with journalists and media outlets and securing earned media opportunities for Deloitte senior leaders that amplify Deloitte’s point of view on topics important to our businesses and clients. As a member of the Global Communications team, this position will be responsible for preparing media materials (press releases, talking points, media briefings) for internal and external use as well as supporting media interviews in global markets.

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate with a wide variety of internal stakeholders and an external PR agency to bring to life media campaigns and meet key objectives.
  • Ensure global business priorities are carried forward with a clear and consistent voice through media activities and platforms that build undisputed leadership in the minds of clients, talent, and external stakeholders.
  • Manage the pipeline, development and posting of press releases, blog content and other media materials.
  • Manage and prepare media briefings for spokespeople.
  • Support the Media Relations team in building lasting and effective relationships with journalists and media outlets to promote Deloitte through media interviews and coverage of key Deloitte initiatives
  • Develop external eminence such as blogs and op-eds for publication with media outlets and proactively pitch to journalists Deloitte spokespeople to serve as subject matter experts.
  • Uncover media opportunities that amplify Deloitte’s point of view on key topics important to our clients and business.
  • Work across all geographies and regions, collaborating with member firm communications professionals, to identify, prioritize, secure, and support earned and paid media opportunities that differentiate Deloitte and demonstrate our depth of expertise on matters important to our clients

  • Experience in organizational communications and/or corporate affairs; media outlet or PR agency experience is desirable.
  • Proven strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong PowerPoint skills
  • Experience developing and executing creative, clutter-busting communications strategies for traditional media, social media, blogs, and other communications vehicles.
  • Ability to define appropriate communications performance indicators, report on success measures and evaluate metrics to enhance/improve communications activities and strategies.
  • Knowledge of web and social media platforms/tools to achieve marketing/communications objectives.
  • Knowledge of media environment.
  • Strong relationship building/relationship management skills
