Location: Fleet, Hampshire

Hybrid working of 2x days per week at home post probation

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

About Fleet Mortgages

Fleet Mortgages is a major player in the specialist Buy to Let Mortgage market. Having recently been acquired by Starling Bank we have exciting plans to grow our business and are looking for quality individuals to join our Underwriting Team.

Who are we looking for?

Experience in the Buy to let Mortgage industry would be an advantage, but we have an excellent training structure so will welcome talented decision-makers who have a desire to provide great service, an eye for detail and are willing and excited to learn.

  • Previous experience of working within the mortgage industry with a strong underwriting or completions background.
  • Proven ability to exercise good commercial and professional judgment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • PC literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • CeMAP preferred or a willingness to study.

Job Purpose

You will be responsible for liaising with brokers to progress mortgage applications from initial receipt through to mortgage offer. In making your decision, you will be involved in ensuring relevant information has been received about both the potential borrower and property to assess both meet Fleet’s criteria and are suitable for lending.

This is a varied role and requires good decision-making and communication skills whilst also needing individuals with an excellent eye for detail. Upon successful completion of your training, you will be mandated up to £500,000.
