At BrewDog Distilling Co. our mission starts and finishes with liquid quality. Innovation and experimentation are two of our most vital founding values and are at the beating heart of absolutely every drop of liquid that we distil.

We believe in craftsmanship & transparency, It's taken us 5 years of dedication to create our vodkas, gins and rums but we're only just getting started. Our next venture will take us into expanding our whisky operation where we will be upsizing our production to 2000casks per year.

We are authentic, unafraid and passionate in our pursuit of incredible tasting spirits. Whether that be distilling 28 tonnes of fresh molasses to turn into our delicious rum or mash filtering a variety of different grains to create our whisky we take our craft very seriously.

We exist to bring honest and charismatic spirits to the people and because we expect great things from you, we give great things back.

HOP STOCK | We believe in sharing our success with our crew and have a unique Hop Stock benefit for our salaried team. That means you share in our success, and if we grow strongly, we win together.

PENSION ENHANCEMENT | We increase our contributions to your pension up to 10% of your salary so together we can properly invest in your future. And, since the statutory amount all businesses pay is 3%, our decision to pay above that shows we’re taking your future seriously.

4-WEEK SABBATICAL| After every 5 years here you will receive an additional 4 weeks off to spend doing whatever you want.

STAFF DISCOUNT | 25% off in bars, 30% off online and 50% off BrewDog Merch to fill up your fridge and your wardrobe* (*don’t put your hoody in the fridge though)

ADDITIONAL HOLIDAY DAYS | For every full year completed up to your 5th year with us we add on one additional day’s leave above and beyond your initial entitlement. You therefore get an extra full week off at 5 years every single year onward to rest up.

BEER TRAINING | We love beer and we want you to love beer too, so we’ll support you through the internationally-recognised Cicerone qualifications, so you can love it almost as much as we do. We’ll also pay you more for each level you pass.

AND A LOT MORE | Okay, deep breath… enhanced sick pay, healthcare, life assurance, high street retail discounts, employee assistance programmes, enhanced family friendly policies around maternity and paternity leave, pawternity leave, DE+I and crew forum groups and an allowance to quality check some beers each month!

We’re also the world’s first carbon negative beer business. We’re focused on making sure that we, and future generations, have a planet to brew great beer on. Our industry leading techniques help us create and deliver unique beer whilst doing our bit (and others’) for the environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE

DISTILLING VIRTUOSO NEEDED TO BREW THE VERY BEST SPIRITS!

We’re looking for an innovative, driven and experienced Distiller to join our team and get elbow deep in, juniper, molasses, yeast and new make spirit. You will be responsible for distilling and developing our epic range of spirits. In this role you will work as part of a small team of distillers on a day/back shift pattern over Mon-Fri, allowing us to distil our award winning spirits each week.

As a BrewDog Distilling Co. Distiller you will be responsible for spirit production across each of our distilling functions within the distillery whilst on shift.

Ensuring that our distilled spirit are consistently made to our exacting standards and that the distillery is operating as efficiently as possible through careful management of our performance indicators.
  • Working shoulder to shoulder with the wider distilling team providing support in delivery of NPD projects, owning parts of the liquid development process, driving this to completion in a timely fashion.
  • Responsible for delivering continuous improvement projects to drive our distillery's operating efficiency, quality improvement initiatives and importantly, always advancing our safety protocols.
  • You'll be a shining light in terms of Health & Safety and plant hygiene, leading by example and challenging any unsafe conditions you are aware of both within the distilling team and the wider company.
  • Stock monitoring, keeping an eye on stock and inventory levels to ensure we are adequately prepared for the production schedule.
  • Being an Environment, Health and Safety ambassador in your own conduct, and in helping to monitor the conduct of everyone on the production floor.
  • Carry out any designated project work as requested and endeavour to drive results based improvements through this work.
  • Playing a part in shift handovers, passing over all necessary information to the next distillers on shift to ensure a smooth transition between shifts.
  • Being a proactive member of a small team of distiller on a single shift, and an engaged member of our distilling team, assisting your team and leading in coordinating the activities of your shift to ensure production schedules nail our targets.
By dedicating yourself to perfecting your responsibilities and consistently delivering against our operational objectives you will be trusted to play a vital role in the communication between Distilling Management and the production floor and vice versa to make sure everyone’s on top of their game and tackle any problems as they arise.

In this role we’d like you to think critically about our operations, be all about making our team better; solving a problem, or a grand scheme that will change the game. With time, you will be given more responsibilities with regards to process execution and will be asked to contribute to discussions and decisions around process improvement.

Due to the incredible growth we're experiencing in our team, all positions in distilling come with fantastic opportunities for career progression and personal development. We are also able to provide a relocation package for the right Distiller.

ABOUT YOU

  • University degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, Brewing & Distilling or another relevant field would be a distinct advantage. But we would consider a ‘time served’/battle-hardened’ distiller who have learned their craft though, at least, a year of self-study & hands-on distilling at an industrial scale.
  • At least a years experience in a paid distilling role is essential for this position. This is not an entry level role.
  • Excellent record keeping skills with a keen eye for detail. Appreciates that capturing the small details can make a big difference. Great communicator.
  • Positive outlook with a natural desire to go over and above for your team.
  • Creative flair, especially to problem solving and liquid flavour. Naturally curious.
  • Appreciates the excellence of a great Martini.
