Reporting to:
Wavemaker Studio Production Lead and Wavemaker Executive Creative Director
Role context:
- We’re looking for an ambitious content and video editor to create short and longer form content for brands that will live across TV, social platforms, digital display and audio
- The role is designed for someone currently working with a brand, media owner, agency or production house - who is ready for a career-defining next step. Here, you will have the opportunity to solve briefs within your specialism working directly with senior stakeholders and multiple creative skillsets in a small creative unit that covers priority new business, client-facing and internal communications projects.

The creation and delivery of engaging effective best in class video, social and audio content is your primary focus.
- You will be a creative editor with the ability to tell a story, land a message or evoke an emotion within 6 seconds to 30 seconds in a compelling way - primarily audio-visual video with animation and motion graphics skills
- You will have excellent editing skills, both audio and visual, with an art director’s eye.
- You will have a wealth of video and audio references to draw from and always on the look out for a distinctive way for your content to show up and the message to get across
- You’re as much of a creative as you are a technician – driven to transform ideas into reality – creating work whether that’s adaptation using existing assets to create a new distinctive video or origination from concept to delivery that will stand out and move people.
- You’ll have the ability to grasp a concept and translate it with originality and sensitivity
Core responsibilities:
- Your primary responsibility will be to create impactful distinctive short and longer form content for brands that will live across social, digital display and audio
- You will be responsible for ideation of the content – this can range from leading on bringing a strategic brand idea to life with storyboarding, mood videos and references to sell it in ahead of delivery of the edit itself to delivery of the big idea through your specialism working with the creative. You will bring your expertise into the various stages of the creative process - finding imagery, video, audio to stimulate ideation and concept pitches at the start; consulting and collaborating on the creative production & treatment of an idea in the middle; as well as leading on the creative execution brief and response in delivery.
- You will be able to evaluate a client’s current assets and create a response that shows how those assets could be effectively used on social media or digital – in tune with the platforms’ best practise and with creative flair that helps the content stand out from the rest.
- You will work within Studio’s production workflow to create video and audio content - this spans original creation of imagery, video, GIFs etc along with the adaptation of current assets.
- You will ensure that content is delivered on time within deadlines, on budget and to the Studio’s benchmark of effectiveness – beautifully crafted and creatively executed to stand out on platform. With each project delivered to the satisfaction of key project stake-holders
- Be required to work flexibly and reactively to our Studio workflow.
- Have your finger on the creative pulse of the latest trends, treatments and developments in audio, video and creative content across platforms inc social & digital
- An appetite for exploring innovative effective ways to leverage new tech & virtual production software for content development and generation will be a valuable advantage.
Client Servicing:
- You will be expected to build strong, effective relationships with clients or with client teams for your campaigns maintaining relationships of trust and respect.
Commercials:
- Accurate and timely reporting of hours on timesheets
- Aligning with relevant SOW sign off, working with the Production Lead to track SOW against all costs
- On the day to day, you will work closely with and be mentored by, the Production Lead as together you work to identify & complete training needs to make continuous improvement a priority.
- In terms of creative personal development and the creative vision driving the Studio and your work, you will work closely in collaboration with the ECD.
- You will collaborate with Studio’s creative team in London and Manchester which comprises art direction, copywriting, innovation, social media and design skillsets. The Studio is collaborative, creative and entrepreneurial. We love everyone bringing their unique and different specialisms to the table to crack a brief.
- As required, you’ll work with colleagues from the wider Wavemaker agency to ensure aspects of the content are delivered in an integrated fashion
Required Skills / Experience:
Please share a portfolio of work
- Technical proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, Audition, Photoshop and After Effects.
- Technical proficiency in audio creation for radio/ audio ads
- Driven by the creation of the highest quality, original, creative content.
- Attention to detail on all pieces of work.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an enthusiastic, collaborative and personable team player.
- Experience in working with all major social, digital and BC platforms.
- Understanding of usage and clearance requirements for music, images and footage.
- Must be accustomed to working to tight deadlines and be extremely well organised.
