Safety: Ensures the safe execution of all work activities and ensures adherence to our safety regulations to protect all individuals. Verifies and coordinates work activities to comply with Skanska EHS program and corrects unsafe activities, actions and conditions.
Has demonstrated proficiency in:
Contract Management: Reviews, executes and manages the client's prime contract as well as subcontracts and vendor agreements. This includes facilitating, administering and participating in contract discussions, reviews and negotiations with all relevant contracting parties.- Risk and Opportunity Management: Identifies potential risks related to operations, contracts, or project execution. Develops mitigation plans and strategies to control the impact of negative situations or to maximize opportunities throughout the life cycle of a project.
- Building and Construction Knowledge - Planning: Applies building and construction knowledge, utilizing experience and current developments in the industry to prepare detailed construction sequence plans including all necessary material, equipment and labor.
- Building Tools and Technology: Identifies and uses the correct technology, equipment and tools necessary to complete the job.
- Business Development - Field Management: Develops relationships with clients that facilitates likelihood of further work or expansion of scope. Works with project manager to develop strategies and action plans to target and pursue business development opportunities.
- Logistics: Develops, approves, and communicates construction logistics plans, verifying they are in place and clearly understood. Ensures that projects are proceeding according to these plans.
- Monthly Pay Requisitions: Tracks monthly pay requisitions, approve percentages of work done in the field, identify progress, and determine appropriate payments due.
- Plans and Specifications: Reads and interprets construction plans and the technical specifications to aid in constructability review. Ensures submittals are approved prior to proceeding with work.
- Preconstruction Planning - Field Management Building: Provides input for the development of logistics, schedule development, EHS program and planning, and Exhibit A scope of work development.
- Project Cost Management: Monitors, tracks, and forecasts self-perform and subcontractor project costs and quantities, including labor, equipment, and materials to ensure projects are successful and profitable.
- Quality Management - Field Management Building: Develops project-specific quality control plan, following Skanska quality control processes and ensuring overall quality of the project. Monitors work practices to identify concerns or issues that do not meet these quality standards. Follows contract provisions for necessary corrective action.
- Schedule Development - Field Management Building: Takes ultimate ownership for the schedule. Translates contract documents and requirements of the build into the schedule logic. Works with schedulers to identify timeframes and constraints, determines milestones and anticipate activities.
- Schedule Management - Field Management Building: Manages and prioritizes project-wide activities and ensures project activities are completed according to schedule. Mediates and reconciles conflicting or competing project activities or delays. Leverages the schedule as a tool in external party negotiations. Communicates and follows schedules and timelines.
- Subcontractor Certifications: Ensures that subcontractors have necessary insurance and contract requirements in place prior to beginning work.
- Subcontractor Oversight: Monitors, inspects and ensures subcontractors are performing the work safely, are adhering to schedule, and are producing quality work in line with subcontractor agreements and our client contract obligations.
- Work-site Harmony: Creates a work environment that maintains/improves job satisfaction through applying labor standards/regulations and adhering to rules to improve job site harmony and labor productivity. Responds to complaints or concerns regarding work environment issues.

Change Order Management : Follows financial implications of contracts and agreements to protect the company’s interests and rights. Identifies compensable changes and follows the contract provisions to timely resolution.- Conflict / Dispute Resolution: Handles conflicts and de-escalates disputes between parties. Negotiates resolutions that are agreeable to both parties.

- Plans and establishes goals and objectives for a team, with direct impact on the immediate- or short-term operational results of the department.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree – Construction Management or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience.- Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.
- Typically requires advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
