The University of Cambridge has a worldwide reputation for excellence in education, teaching and research, delivered through the work of over 11,000 staff. Its HR function sits within the Unified Administrative Services (UAS) which provides services to some 150 academic and non-academic departments and institutions.
The Immigration and Compliance Team is one of five teams within the HR Shared Service. The team provides advice and guidance on all related immigration and screening matters to all Institutions within the University, and to employees; both current and prospective.
The team is primarily responsible for governing the University's immigration licences which enable the University to recruit the brightest and the best from around the world.
Providing a high-quality and timely advisory service to overseas staff, both current and prospective, on a range of immigration issues and applications, and acting as first point of contact for all employment screening matters, and as liaison with the University's external screening agency.
Educated to degree level/level 6 vocational qualifications, or with an equivalent level of practical experience, the role holder will have experience of working at an administrative level in Human Resources within a higher education or public sector organisation, and of working in a customer-focused environment. Working knowledge of the UK immigration system and/or criminal records disclosure would be desirable.
