The opportunity
A rare and exciting opportunity to join the Omnis team as Senior Risk and Compliance Officer. We'd like you to take responsibility for monitoring, reporting and addressing all aspects of investment, operational and compliance risk. Accountable for maintaining the Omnis risk management process, and daily global exposure and liquidity monitoring and the production and presentation of a range of risk-based reports. This is a Senior position in the team with the requirement to deputise for the Head of Risk & Compliance.
This is a London based role with hybrid working opportunity.
Key Accountabilities:
- Omnis’ primary risk controller covering monitoring, analysing and reporting all types of risk associated with operating a UCITS Management Company (i.e. portfolio, market, counter-party, liquidity and operational risk).
- Perform daily global exposure and liquidity management reviews.
- Analyse a variety of risk types including: counterparty, geographic, political, credit, currency, liquidity, market disruption, market volatility, correlation, derivative and settlement.
- Work with the Omnis Operations team to monitor and report operations and outsourcing risks.
- Produce a range of daily, weekly and monthly risk and compliance reports. The Jobholder may be required to attend Omnis Committee meetings to present risk-related issues.
- Support the Omnis Head of Risk & Compliance by:
- Maintaining the Omnis Risk Management Process;
- Assisting with annual and thematic due diligence on Investment Managers;
- Assisting with compliance monitoring and reporting activities;
- Supporting projects and business initiatives (i.e. fund launches and Investment Manager selections).
- Support Investment and Borrowing oversight reviews, as required.
What will you need to succeed?
Qualifications / Experience:
- 7 years+ UCITS compliance and/or risk monitoring experience.
- Experience of working with Investment Managers and TPAs to escalate investment, operational and outsourcing risk issues.
- CISI Diploma in Investment Compliance.
Knowledge:
- Good working knowledge of COLL 5 and COLL 6.
- Knowledge of StatPro and MIG21 desirable.
Skills and Competencies :
- Strong analytical skills.
- Good team working skills.
- Highly numerate and can maintain a close attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present effectively.
- Good investment operations skills including: trade instructions, transfer agency and fund accounting.
