Head of Communications, US Robotics

As Head of Communications, US Robotics, you will be the part of the US RO (Robotics) leadership team, you will be responsible for the translation of the business strategy into a customer-focused 360-degree communications strategy and plan that supports the positioning of RO as an industry leader for continued profitable growth in Robotics and Discrete Automation in Auburn Hills, Michigan. In this role, you will have deep experience in counseling executives, building a communications strategy that raises visibility with key stakeholders and building a function that is integrated into the business leadership, working closely with Marketing and Sales to design customer centric communications campaigns. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned, experienced communicator with a strong track record of building and networking across global teams, with deep experience in change communications and strong business acumen.

Your responsibilities
- As part of the US Management team, devise and activate a 360-degree communications plan that positions the business and actively contributes to the business strategy for profitable growth, serve as trusted advisor to Head of Robotics Division, US
- In close interaction with and the support of the RA (Robotics and Discrete Automation) Central Communications team, translate strategy into targeted customer-focused communications plan and tactics including thought leadership, external and social media, digital online content, trade shows & events and product and solutions communications
- Create/localize central positioning and communications content for products and solutions, develop communications calendar including events and shows, media and speaking opportunities
- Ensure executional excellence and accountability for all communications measures in line with brand positioning and corporate identity/corporate design guidelines
- Develop social and traditional media relations strategy, coordinate and supervise media relations work for business press in coordination with external relations and the RA Central
- Communication team as needed, develop/drive internal change communications program that ensures the direction of the business is clear to all employees and that each understand what is required of them for success
- Work with/contribute to RA Central Coms team; Country Communication leads to ensure sharing of content and best practices
- Responsible for developing KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) and monitoring return on investment for all BL (Business Line) led communications activities
- Create bank of content for reuse by global communicators in coordination with RA Communication team. Build community of Working with RA Central Communication, support/strengthen functional competencies across the US Communication team
- Make the case for resources, support/strengthen functional competencies across the US Communication team
Your background
- Bachelors Degree with minimum 10 years of related experience, preferably a mix of corporate/agency experience within the technology industry and extensive media relations experience
- Experience in a highly matrixed organization and in coordinating with and working across geographies
- Practice in building and collaborating with formal and informal networks at all levels of an organization
- Strong business acumen, experienced counselor to business leaders, expected to develop a deep and sophisticated understanding of the business, the portfolio, trends and key decision makers/influencers, as well as an understanding of the key drivers for success
- Strong analytical/writing skills, able to support on keynote presentations, executive talking points, media briefings, Q&A documents etc.
- Evaluates opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an on-going basis
- Complete connectivity with communications central team, proactive business partner, contributing communications ideas on how to improve business performance
- Excellent spoken and written editorial skills
- Intercultural sensitivity and experienced in cross-functional, international collaboration and building strong personal networks
- Action-oriented, strong attention to detail, able to take ownership of large and complex projects and see them through to completion with a high standard of excellence
