/ Position: Commercial Airline Medical Escort
/ Location: Bournemouth
/ Working Hours: To work as part of the Bank Staff, ad-hoc hours

Gama Aviation is looking for registered nurses and doctors to join their team of bank staff who undertake commercial airline medical escort duties. We are seeking enthusiastic and autonomous practitioners, who can provide high quality nursing and medical care in often challenging and unpredictable environments. Applicants should be confident and competent in their clinical decision-making skills, with the ability to work in unfamiliar surroundings that often restrict the ability to access external support. The applicant should also be able to deal with the logistical challenges encompassed throughout the commercial transfer process.

Please note, applicants should have the ability to provide a minimum of 3 consecutive days of availability at least once per month.

/ About the role:
A Commercial Airline Medical Escort (CAME) facilitates the repatriation of patients by means of a commercial airliner. This is a comfortable and safe environment that allows patients to be transferred back to their home address or a medical facility within their home country. Throughout the repatriation, the medical escort is responsible for the wellbeing of the patient and for continuation of care, acting on potential changes in patient condition, as well as ensuring all logistical challenges are dealt with accordingly. / Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:

Minimum requirements Doctors:

• Full GMC registration post FY1
• Valid ALS/ILS certificate
• Experience in either ED, ICU, CCU, or GP surgeries
• Autonomous practitioner
• Ability to work in a stressful and unpredictable environment
• Valid passport
• Up to date with mandatory training

Minimum requirements Adult and Paediatric nurses:

• Active NMC registration with a minimum of three years’ experience post registration
• Valid ALS/ILS or APLS/PILS certificate
• Experience in either ED, ICU, HDU, CCU, Recovery
• Autonomous practitioner
• Ability to work in a stressful and unpredictable environment
• Valid passport
• Up to date with mandatory training

Minimum requirements Mental Health Nurses:

• Active NMC registration with a minimum of three years’ experience post registration
• Valid ALS/ILS certificate
• Experience in acute mental health
• Autonomous practitioner
• Ability to work in a stressful and unpredictable environment
• Valid passport
• Up to date with mandatory training
