At EY, we are expanding our Microsoft Services and Cloud Group and specifically building our Technology Consulting practice. Due to this expansion, we are seeking to recruit high achieving Cloud Architects to be part of our growing business and to support us in our NextWave Strategy.

The opportunity
By joining the Technology Consulting team as a Cloud Architect, you will be helping our clients to adopt and utilise their Cloud platforms. You will be responsible for helping develop their Cloud Strategies, Operating Models and to assist them on every step of their Cloud Adoption Journey as part of major and complex client IT programs of work. You will use your breadth of IT knowledge to help our clients navigate their journey to the cloud and develop and implement solutions to meet their business requirements.

We are recruiting Cloud Architects primarily at Manager and Senior Manager levels. We are seeking individuals with significant client-side experience or individuals who have gained project and technology delivery experience within large recognised organisations. We have extensive team growth plans in place with significant opportunities for candidates with drive and ambition to progress their career at pace.

Your key responsibilities

Client responsibilities

  • Help develop Cloud Strategies using experience in all domains including data, application, infrastructure, integration, security and business architecture.
  • Assist clients to accelerate their cloud adoption with the design and deployment of the EY Enterprise Cloud Landing Zones.
  • Develop strategic technology cloud roadmaps and assist clients to deliver on them.
  • Act as trusted advisor to our clients on their cloud journey.
  • Define target cloud patterns aligned with the implementation of enterprise systems.
  • Develop plans and strategies for replacing legacy technology systems, including cloud migration solutions and roadmaps.
  • Ability to confidently advise our clients on DevOps toolsets, automated testing, continuous security and implementation of these capabilities.
  • Help to build valued relationships with external clients and internal peers.
  • Understand all our service offerings, actively identify opportunities to better serve our clients and assist with business development and proposals


People responsibilities

  • Develop people through effectively supervising, coaching, and mentoring more junior members of staff
  • Be responsible for your own self-development, and maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills
  • Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures


Skills and attributes for success

  • Significant experience in one of the Enterprise Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and its relevant build, deployment, automation, networking and security technologies in cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Must have excellent communication, convey confidence and the ability to explain highly technical issues to varied audiences.
  • Knowledge of 3rd party Security products such as Checkpoint, Fortigate and Cisco ASA, along with native cloud platform security services e.g. Azure WAF, AWS WAF
  • Proficiency in Office 365 products such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Teams is an advantage.
  • Have exposure and hands on experience with Infrastructure as Code languages like Terraform, ARM, Bicep, Powershell or Python.
  • In-depth understanding of Microsoft Identity and Access Management products such as Azure AD, Azure AD Connect, Conditional Access, Azure AD Proxy, SAML and Active Directory Domain Services.
  • Experience at providing technical leadership to project resources to meet project deadlines and ensure project objectives are met.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience working in a similar role/ environment
  • A passion for Cloud Architecture and Engineering.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • Have attention to detail.
  • Relevant industry certification.
  • Excellent presentation skills.


Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Hands-on experience in working with Agile methods for software delivery e.g. Scrum, SAFE, Kanban, Lean, TDD and CI/CD.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Workflow management using Agile collaboration tools from main vendors
