The ABUHB Clinical Photography & Medical Illustration department have an exciting opportunity to become part of a busy team throughout the Trust.
We have a very successful TeleDermatology service that is in the process of being adopted on an ‘All Wales’ basis and have recently launched similar patient pathways for the ENT and Maxillofacial departments, which you would be part of.
You will be working as a valued member of our team to provide comprehensive, standardised high quality clinical photography and video in the studio and on the wards, as well as covering clinics and taking images in theatre.
You must have a friendly disposition, be able to work as part of a team and be able to manage and prioritise own workload.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational
- To provide expert advice enabling complex and technical information to be designed, communicated and presented professionally.
- To assist the Manager in the maintenance of medical illustration equipment.
- To ensure the maintenance of professional standards throughout the department, adhering to departmental protocols, GDPR and the rules of confidentiality at all times.
- To undertake specialist clinical photography of patients requested by medical staff for clinical assessment, records, teaching, publication and research.
- To undertake specialist dermoscopic photography
- To undertake oral/orthodontic dental photography
- To undertake photography for non-accidental injuries.
- To undertake photography of cancer related conditions especially in dermatology and breast patients.
- To undertake theatre photography.
- To undertake photography of injury/debilitating disease/communicable disease including activities within the A&E department.
- To undertake mortuary/specimen photography
- To carry out medico-legal photography for the Board, solicitors and criminal injury cases.
- To liaise with clinical staff to ensure patients are appropriately and safely accommodated.
- To communicate with patients to explain examinations and consent.
- To accommodate patients view’s with regard to cultural and ethnic differences.
- To attend court as an expert witness.
