About the Role:
As we continue to grow our team, we are looking for an assistant to support our People and Operations functions in providing an excellent employee experience for team members at all stages of the employee lifecycle. This is an entry-level position offering exposure and professional development opportunities across a broad range of internal business functions. To ensure continuous professional development, we would be happy to support the role through a relevant apprenticeship training course.
Short-Term Goals for our People and Operations Assistant (6 months after joining):
- Engage with and understand internal objectives, policies and procedures
- Begin to familiarise with best practice HR processes
- Support hiring managers with administrative requirements during upcoming hiring periods
- Contribute to an inclusive and supportive company culture when working with team members
Long-Term Goals for our People and Operations Assistant (12 months after joining):
- Develop interest and skills in a specific area of HR and Operations
- Shadow HR conversations, leading own employee relations meetings with guidance from the People and Culture Manager
- Build confidence in role to deliver new HR and Operations initiatives
- Suggest and present new ideas for internal processes
- Comfortable delivering internal training on new policies and initiatives
Responsibilities:
This role reports to the People and Culture Manager. The main objective of the People and Operations Assistant is to provide administrative support to the HR, People and Operations functions. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Coordinate recruitment processes, including correspondence with applicants, scheduling calls, interviews and assessments
- Administering employment contracts and other documentation relating to employment
- Ensuring documentation is kept up to date on our online HR platform (Zelt)
- Assisting managers of other teams to complete paperwork required for various HR processes
- Supporting the induction process for new employees, including providing a basic introduction to our digital systems (Google, Slack and Notion)
- Coordinating social events, including research and bookings for our twice-yearly off-sites, and other ad hoc social events throughout the year
- General office management, including managing equipment resourcing, updating our tech equipment inventory and work from home budget tracker
- Supporting the People and Operations functions by arranging meetings and preparing materials as needed and directed
- Supporting the processing of leavers, including scheduling exit interviews and using data to review reasons for leaving
- Undertaking ad hoc projects as directed by the People and Culture Manager
About You:
You are excited about business support functions and are keen to experience different aspects of People, HR, and Operations. You may have had some professional experience, perhaps in a team assistant or office support role, or you have recently graduated university and are keen to develop your interest in HR and Operations. While we are a rapidly growing tech startup, we are also a non-profit, so a high level of adaptability and willingness to approach challenges with creativity and curiosity is essential.

- Strong computer literacy skills, including Microsoft Office
Beneficial:
- CIPD Level 3 or equivalent professional training for HR/ Operations
- Undergraduate Degree in any subject or equivalent professional working experience
- Experience working with Google Business Suite
- Experience administrating in internal HR platform (we use Zelt)
