Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you’ll help ensure continuous process review and patient safety improvement.

Your responsibilities will be to:
- Deputise for the Pharmacy Risk and Governance Manager/Medicines Safety Officer, and work closely with the Lead Pharmacy Risk and Governance Technician, the Medicines Management Nurse Specialist and Cold Chain Auditors to deliver on department, Trust and national medicines safety strategies and directives.
- Provide expert advice on medication safety and governance issues, working with other healthcare professionals to raise awareness of medicines related incidents and reduce recurrence by implementing actions to improve patient safety.
- Be a champion and advocate for medication safety, supporting both Pharmacy and the wider Trust.
- Develop and deliver specialist medication risk and governance training, to pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide clinical expertise when investigating and advising on medication related incidents reported via the Datix web database.
- Undertake clinical pharmacist duties on wards and within the dispensary, including participation in the weekend and bank holiday rota.
