Job title: Trading Underwriter (Part-Time, Job-Share and Full-Time)
Location: Croydon, Hybrid

As a Trading Underwriter, you’ll be analysing and underwriting new and renewal business. This means you’ll be in a Market facing role, so it’s really important that you are great at communicating and building meaningful relationships with our distribution partners.
We’ll support and train you in all the technical aspects of the role and will make sure that you feel part of the team from day one.

So what will you be doing?
Well, you can expect no two days to be the same, you’ll be working with your team and reporting into the Business Manager as well as interacting with brokers and intermediaries daily.
We need you to provide a standout service experience for customers and stakeholders and be responsible for delivering quality and timely solutions for them, exercising your judgement to ensure that we take on profitable risks in line with our appetite and strategy. This means taking ownership of own workload and supporting colleagues to deliver our collective workload -it’s all about being a team player!
If you spot ways we can improve things or do them differently, we’d love you to tell us, that’s how we can boost effectiveness and efficiency of our processes.
So what are we looking for?
It doesn’t matter if you haven’t worked in Insurance or Financial Services before, what we really need is a willingness to learn and to contribute. You might have some Underwriting experience which would be great (especially with Property & Casualty), but what we really need are your strengths and energy to come into play.
In this role, communication will be key as you will work with a lot of functions to ensure customers experience our full proposition. You should be comfortable making decisions using both data and your own judgement to provide the best outcomes for Zurich and our customers, as this is what is most important to us.
We’d like you to be happy to challenge processes and decisions using your attention to detail. You’ll naturally adapt your style to different workloads and pressures and be able to think on your feet. Last but not least, organisation and the ability to prioritise is really key, our customer is always foremost on our minds!
