Full Time Dartford, England 43742 - 50056 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic pharmacist to provide and develop the clinical pharmacy service within Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust.

Due to progression of a current team member we now have an opportunity for a pharmacist to join our established and respected team, working both in the inpatient and community setting. The role would suit pharmacists with previous mental health and hospital experience who are looking to consolidate their skills, as well as those considering a move into mental health pharmacy from another sector. Our pharmacists are provided with opportunities for personal growth and development, including support for post-graduate qualifications in mental health pharmacy. Some of our pharmacists are qualified as independent prescribers and the opportunities to qualify and practice as prescribers will grow as our team does.

Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, key aspects of this clinical post will include attending multidisciplinary team meetings, patient education and counselling, clinical audit and medicines information, as well as facilitating pharmacy students from Medway School of Pharmacy.

Candidates should be qualified pharmacists with an interest in mental health. A post-graduate qualification in psychiatric pharmacy or relevant experience in mental health would be beneficial.

You will be based at Littlebrook Hospital, Dartford.

Come and work with us in the Garden of England where we combine exceptional professional development opportunities with a tremendous quality of life.

We are Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust (KMPT), providing mental health, learning disability and specialist services, serving 1.8 million people across the county.

The Trust (rated Good overall by the CQC and Outstanding for care) has 3,283 staff working in 66 buildings across 33 locations, covering an area of 1,450 square miles.

You will be joining friendly, passionate colleagues, rich in their diversity, who are committed to providing excellent care to our service users and their loved ones.

The nature of our work attracts kindness and compassion as standard and everyone from our cleaners and porters to the chief executive and chairman are recognised as playing a vital role in providing an exemplary service.

The roles and duties of these posts include:

  • Developing close working relationships with other members of the multi-disciplinary team and contributing to clinical care plans
  • Responding to medication-related queries, providing advice on prescribing and promoting evidence based practice
  • Discussing medication with patients and carers and developing a variety of approaches to support informed care in the community
  • Educating colleagues about medicines management and medicines optimisation
