Job description
Beacon Support is looking to appoint an Administrative Officer, initially on a fixed term contract of 18 months. You will report to the Head of Services and will work closely with other senior staff. You’ll be required to provide administrative support with projects, day-to-day organising of lower band support, updating databases, assisting with student allocations, responding to email queries from needs assessors, marketing, and document production/control.
This is initially a home-based role. Hours will be agreed with the Head of Services and whilst there will be some limited flexibility, we will be unable to accommodate significant fluctuations in working patterns.
Some of Your Key Duties Include:
- To ensure all administrative and project based tasks are completed with a high level of accuracy
- To work closely with core team members in a complementary and courteous manner.
- To be able to effectively multi-task as you will often need to work across several different tasks
- Carry out all other tasks as requested within the post holder’s appropriate skill set.
- To make excellent use of your time, especially since you will often be required to work independently
What Do You Need?
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Have a demonstrable knowledge of MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Have demonstrable administration knowledge and skills.
- Be able to organise and prioritise workload effectively.
- Be able to work to deadlines to produce work to a high standard.
- Be a clear and concise communicator maintaining a polite and professional manner.
- Strong research skills and a passion for supporting students with learning difficulties.
- Have experience of supporting neurodiverse students, particularly with ADHD and ASC.
- Be self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
- Excellent timetabling skills.
£ TBC
This is a .5 contract with scope for an additional 8 - 10 hours per week
