Job description

We are currently looking for an experienced Clerk of Works or Site Manager with a keen focus on health & safety, and quality to work for one of our trusted partners on a 6 month contract in London. You will be working on a large office refurbishment project will full Cat B fitout, ensuring all health & safety and quality standards are being met and adhered to, in line with architectural designs, legal standards, and company procedure. The role will be full time site based Monday - Friday with some Saturday work required. They deliver fast track Cat A and Cat B fit-out and refurbishment projects that create a lasting impact. By partnering with them, they boost local economies, provide specialist skills, deliver competitive and best value as well as developing opportunities for innovative solutions.Overview of key duties / responsibilities:

  • Inspecting works on site and ensuring the works activities are built to Design.
  • Responsibility of quality and workmanship of trades and record.
  • Monitoring progress and reporting this into construction managers.
  • Ensuring all elements of the site are safe, identify hazards or potential Hazards and rectifying with the site team.
  • Conduct H+S Inspections and monitor safe working throughout and correct any breaches observed.
  • Ensuring people are working with the PPE for their correct task activity.
  • Checking that Health and Safety regulations and Building Regulations are complied with.
  • Identifying defects and looking at measures to rectify them.
  • Undertake site tours with client team and stakeholders.
  • Ensure that he/she is thorough in approach and good attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Previous experience on similar office refurb projects with a focus on HSEQ is essential.
  • CSCS Black / White / Gold / Green Card
  • SMSTS / SSSTS
  • First Aid
  • CITB Health and Safety
  • Relevant degree or HND / HNC qualification
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations & building regulations (preferred)
  • DBS check within last 6 months (we can carry this out for you upon offer if you don't already have one)
  • BPSS security clearance (we can arrange upon offer)
  • Must have excellent communication and organisation skills.
  • NEBOSH (preferred)
  • IOSH (preferred)
  • Any additional HSEQ certs are preferable.
