Freeman College, based in Sheffield City Centre is an independent specialist college and part of the Ruskin Mill Trust, educating young people aged 16-25 years old.
For over 30 years, Ruskin Mill Trust has provided Specialist Independent Education to children and adults with complex needs including learning difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions and disabilities. Our provisions offer both day and residential placements and applications. Inspired by Aonghus Gordon using the insights of Rudolf Steiner, John Ruskin and William Morris, Ruskin Mill Trust works with hand, head, heart and place to provide students with the tools to transform material and in doing so transform themselves.

Cleaner Part time

Thursday and Friday 16:00 – 19:00
Salary Range (FTE) £21,756 (if over the age of 23)
ACTUAL Salary for working 6 hours and 52 weeks per year the salary is £3,722

Based at Freeman College in the City Centre.
This position to undertake all cleaning duties at Freeman College as necessary.
Key duties of this role include,
- Cleaning offices, workshops, toilets and other areas, including vacuuming and mopping floors, dusting surfaces, emptying bins etc. to a high standard.
- Ensuring best practice and complying with Health and Safety and COSHH legislation.
- Ensuring cleaning products and materials are stored securely and safely.
- Key holder responsibilities
The criteria required to undertake this position successfully include,
- Experience of working unsupervised in a similar role.
- Experience of working to time constraints and managing time effectively.
- Knowledge and understanding of cleaning products, the use of cleaning utensils, hygiene and cleanliness.
- Use of ecological cleaning methods wherever possible
A flexible and professional approach to work is required and flexibility will be required to cover additional evenings and or daytime hours (early morning) as a relief cleaner for holiday cover and staff absences.
There may be a need to attend training outside of the usual working hours.
The post is subject to satisfactory references, an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check for both Adults and Children, a medical check, evidence of qualifications, plus verification of the right to work in the UK.
