Job description
The Facilities Management (FM) Service comprises several diverse and multi-disciplined teams that are responsible for the safe operation, management, maintenance and efficiency of the Council’s property assets. The teams provide a range of services and support to the Council’s operational, commercial and schools portfolios ensuring the Councils legislative obligations are fulfilled.
Repairs and Maintenance (R&M) Team
Compliance and Surveying Team
Building Cleaning Team – Responsible for ensuring that all Council properties are clean and fit for occupation and securing a high level of occupant satisfaction.
Property Information Team
Energy Management Team
Facilities Management & Site Services Team
We have part-time opportunities for Cleaners within our Cleaning team.
We are a key service department within the Council providing a routine cleaning service to corporate and public buildings, including the Council’s head office at Friargate and libraries. We expect our team to achieve high standards of cleaning and to have a can-do approach, in return for which we offer a competitive rate of pay and pension scheme, good training, development and support.
In your job role you will:
- Clean a designated area to a high standard
- Undertake mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, polishing and buffing
- Cleaning of toilets and emptying bins
- Clean with due care to health and safety

You’ll need:
- Knowledge of cleaning practises, along with Health and Safety principles.
- Be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.

- Be physically fit.
- Reliable, flexible, trustworthy and hardworking.
Number of hours per week: 12.5 hrs per week
