The Mirror has created a Trainee scheme which will enable you to gain a wide variety of experience across our newsroom teams. These include: digital, print, daily, Sundays, news, features, sport and politics.
We are offering a passionate aspiring journalist a full-time position working at The Mirror where you will also complete a fully-funded training course to become an NCTJ qualified Journalist.

This role is a two year contract based both from home and our hub (office) in London, Canary Wharf.

What will the role involve?
You will be getting to know the heart of the brand here at The Mirror, working as part of a team to cover live news while learning feature writing and interviewing skills. You will be building strong contacts for story-gathering in our existing and underserved communities while being passionate about stories you believe will be important to our readers.
Who are we looking for?
One of the most important qualities for us is that you are passionate about the news. You’re creative, curious and have an understanding of social media and storytelling across social platforms. We are looking for you to have at least 5 GCSE’s grade 4 or above including Maths and English and due to the qualification you will be receiving we ask that you do not already have any previous journalism qualifications.

The position will be offered on a two-year fixed term contract and you will receive industry-leading digital journalism training from the NCTJ once in the position.
We are offering a salary of £25,000 for the first year and £27,000 for the second year along with benefits including;
