Our Client is one of the world's leading design consultancies within the Infrastructure and Environmental arena and they are looking to expand within the UK with an ambitious business plan.This opportunity is to work from any of the offices within the UK (on a hybrid basis), on projects in Australia and New Zealand. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience you may not already have. It does as well provide the optional experience in travelling to different countries working on exciting projects and dealing with clients and colleagues from different environments.This role is specialising in Water projects, so experience within the Water Sector is important. Waste-water experience will be an advantage.Some of the responsibilities include: * You are likely to work on a portfolio of different projects and will apply your acquired skills and knowledge in a range of environments. * Manage and undertake the gathering and review of planning data * Explain technical concepts to others including more junior colleagues and clients * Prepare or supervise the preparation of presentations and present information to internal and external groups * Provide updates to project managers/directors in terms of the progress of tasks in line with programmes * Ensuring that the technical content of all work carried out is correct and completed in accordance within agreed timescales and budgets. * Undertake project delivery tasks, which may include calculations, drawings, sketches and reports. * Provide technical guidance, support and training to colleagues and assist, where practicable, in mentoring and development of Graduate and Under-Graduate Engineers. * Work in close collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines. * Collaboratively use judgement to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments. * Work on small projects or portions of larger projects you will assign tasks to and coordinate work with entry-level engineers, technicians or administrative staff. * Assists in determining schedule and budget requirements. Knowledge required:
- Knowledge of Civil engineering design of water retaining structures, below ground structures, buildings, ideally in a variety of sectors, structural forms and materials .Basic knowledge of programming and resource planning as well as the ability to prepare, review and approve calculations, reports, drawings and design briefs relating to pipe work and process plant installations.
- Experience of working within a 3D design environment and an ability to work to BIM protocols
- Application of Engineering principles
- Design Development
- Building good client relationship skills
- Honours degree in relevant discipline required
- Working towards Chartered Engineer Status (ICE or CIWEM).
