Charity Shop Manager United Kingdom
Job description
We are looking for a pro-active retail lead to spearhead the development of Home-Start HOST’s first charity shop. You’ll maximise shop sales and profits through the day-to-day management of the shop, generating vital income to support HOST’s work. You’ll work closely with HOST’s other services, in particular the Cascade Family Essentials baby bank, and support our volunteer recruitment campaigns.
Main Responsibilities:
- To maintain excellent retail standards on the shop floor and manage housekeeping in all areas
- To recruit and manage a team of shop volunteers
- Responsible for visual merchandising including window displays and shop layout in line with high street trends in order to optimise sales
- To proactively manage staff and volunteers including delivery of induction and all other shoprelated training i.e. Gift Aid, Cash Handling etc.
- To lead by example in delivering excellent customer service at all times including competently resolving any customer complaints / queries
- Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of shop-related administration in line with GDPR legislation using the agreed systems, e.g. weekly paperwork, IT, volunteer paperwork, rotas, timesheets, holidays and absence management etc.
