Due to an expanding nursing team, we have an exciting vacancy for a caring, capable, and enthusiastic applicant to join our friendly nursing team, providing care and treatment to our patients.
We are an RCVS accredited training practice and will provide practical work-based training to the right candidate. We are looking for someone who would like to enter into the nursing profession and has previous experience in a clinical or animal environment. You will need 5 GCSE's grades 9-4 (A*-C) including, Maths, English and Science.
The role is full time, 40 hours per week (including some nights and weekends on a rota basis with time off in lieu) and a full manual driving licence is essential.
Main Responsibilities:
· To provide care and treatment, under supervision for all patients.
· To maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in clinical areas, kennels, and cattery.
· To maintain the laundry.
· To assist with animal handing.
· Help to maintain the practice grounds.
· Carry out laboratory work as directed.
· To carry out reception duties.
· Must be willing to perform out-of-hours cover to assure animal welfare as per the nursing team rota.
· Be able to keep accurate hospital records and required paperwork.
· To undertake Lark mead’s training programme as directed by the senior nursing staff.
· To attend team and practice meetings as required.
· Health and safety as appropriate to the role.
