Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England with centres in York, Middlesbrough, Saltaire, Wakefield and Newcastle.
We have an exciting opportunity for weekend animal keepers to work with and join our experienced team and look after our animal collection at our Stewart Park campus. This role will be working mainly weekends and holidays throughout the year, this includes bank holidays on a rota basis.
We are seeking individuals who as part of a small team will be responsible for the animal health and husbandry of our animal collection. Sector experience and knowledge specifically in animal management and welfare will be required.
The successful candidate will work with small mammals, farm livestock and reptiles and must be confident in all aspects of handling.
Educated to level 2 or above in a relevant subject. This post would ideally suit an experienced animal keeper, or newly qualified individual who is looking to step up into their first role, looking to make a difference at an expanding Campus, in a beautiful location.
Reporting directly to the Animal Unit Manager, the Casual Keeper Team will carry out all routine animal husbandry tasks. The ability to work as a team and alone when required is essential.
