Purpose...
Carer Wellbeing Support Workers provide invaluable support working with unpaid family carers in West Sussex providing:
tailored, personalised information, guidance, emotional and practical support which helps carers to reach their goals, based on the principles of trust, respect and dignity
a range of local services for carers which includes a blend of face to face, on-line, telephone, 1 to 1 and group opportunities
evidence of the impact the service has made through reviews, surveys, case studies and collating general feedback
The carers we support come from such different walks of life that we are particularly interested in attracting candidates from similarly diverse backgrounds, including Asian, Arab, Black, Mixed/Multiple Ethnic Groups, White Other (e.g. Eastern European, Gypsy, Roma) and any other Ethnic minorities. ABOUT YOU
You are looking for a meaningful job that will make a difference to your local community.- You can work flexibly, i.e. can travel across West Sussex if needed, work from our offices or remotely/from home, dependent on the needs of the role at the time.
- You enjoy connecting with people on a deeper level and can work independently.
- You have a good command of English and a high level of empathy when discussing sensitive subjects.
- You have had exposure to / experience with / interest in social care and health, particularly as it relates to working with carers.
- You are confident using technology, such as chat applications, databases or CRMs, or are willing to learn. (YOU will use these skills to help carers increase their digital skills to combat isolation and loneliness!)
- You have the UK right to work and are prepared to undertake relevant background checks, including references and Enhanced DBS (working with adults and young adults).

KEY DUTIES
YOU will provide information, guidance, active listening and holistic support to adults and young people who look after a relative or friend who could not manage without their help.- YOU will work as part of a team of staff and volunteers and will provide mentoring to volunteers learning about our carer services.
- YOU will identify/recognise specific carers' needs and work collaboratively your colleagues to find the best support solutions.
- YOU will know of/learn about the Think Carer principles and promote them across all networks, including best practice knowledge, understanding of local/national carer landscape and raising awareness of carer issues.
- YOU will partner with local health, social care and voluntary sector organisations to enable carers to access timely and appropriate support.
- YOU will record/report using our outcome-based tools and systems to evidence the work we do for the community and identify any areas for improvement.
- YOU will support/report to your Locality Team/Manager through data quality, crosschecks and audits.
- YOU will ensure safeguarding vulnerable adults and children and the health and safety of staff, volunteers and carers is considered.
