How you'll make a difference
- Your main role will be to support and assist the residents in their personal care needs in accordance with their individual support plans and supporting those experiencing a change in their care requirements. This may involve helping them at meal times or administering/ assisting them with taking their medication.
- You will help people to maintain and develop their personal skills and will use your caring and creative personality in delivering a variety of activity programmes to promote independence.
- You will be expected to maintain appropriate records including daily record and support plans. Any changes to these plans, part of your job will be to support the individual to enable them to maintain and develop their personal skills.
What we need from you
- Be committed to obtain a relevant vocational qualification, if not already achieved, e.g. NVQ 2 or equivalent.
- Demonstrate knowledge of professional care groups and external contacts e.g. GPs, nursing services, and emergency services.
- The ability and knowledge to manage challenging behaviour.
- Demonstrate knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice.
- Demonstrate knowledge of specialist equipment and an awareness of manual handling techniques.
