Senior Campaign Manager

The Senior Campaign Manager is responsible for applying expert campaign technical expertise and playing a senior role in a high-performing team to deliver effective and efficient campaign projects, maximising opportunities with clients and around the agency by contributing to Armadillo’s MarTech capabilities.

Senior Campaign Manager Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Client Services, Strategy, Creative, HTML, Data and Analyst teams as required through the campaign planning process, providing expert recommendations and accurate inputs that contribute to the efficiency and/or success of the campaign project, and the profitability of Armadillo

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the client strategy and data objectives related to campaign projects

  • Accurately scope complex campaign solutions, including the data required to drive personalisation - lead scoping meetings and calls when required, and provide clear and comprehensive documentation and presentations for internal and client stakeholders as required to explain and gain approval for the solutions

  • Understand the KPIs and measurement requirements for your campaigns, and ensure measurement and data requirements are supported within the campaign set up and build scope

  • Identify opportunities for bespoke solutions to deliver more effective campaigns’ scope these solutions clearly, collaborating with Tech, Development and other colleagues as required and propose solutions to the Principal Campaign Manager and CS leads as appropriate

  • Provide accurate, detailed inputs on campaign scopes up to complex level to Client Services and PM teams, to support the preparation of project scopes, budgets and timing plans

  • Take ownership of your projects from a campaign perspective; proactively provide updates to CS, Project Management and other team members as required to support the delivery of campaign projects on schedule

  • Consider the budget and commercials attached to campaign projects - proactively identify and recommend opportunities to CS & PM colleagues to improve efficiency and profitability from a budgetary perspective when planning and executing campaign projects

  • Understand the client’s relational database structures, customer data and attributes used for your campaigns

  • Translate customer journeys and flow diagrams up to and including complex level into campaigns within the CRM tool (Braze) with minimal input required from senior colleagues

  • Understand the capabilities and requirements of the CRM tool(s) (Braze primarily) and marketing platforms used in your projects

  • Integrate complex personalised content and offers, using third party systems and data where required, successfully in to your campaign designs

  • Upload and send tests of Emails, SMS, Push with dynamic variants where required, for your campaign projects without bugs or errors

  • Set up all aspects of campaign deployment for broadcast (data segmentation, campaign flows, broadcast), without bugs or errors

  • Perform quality assurance on your own campaign projects and peer review projects with other members of the Campaign team as required to the highest standard.

  • Present excellent, clear and goal-focused rationales for your campaign solutions


Senior Campaign Manager Requirements

  • Excellent understanding of Email, SMS, Push, App, with a detailed knowledge about customer behaviour and sufficient knowledge about User Experience to ensure solutions are workable

  • Demonstrable excellent understanding of the capabilities and requirements of CRM tools and marketing platforms (we use Braze primarily, so this would be preferable, but not essential)

  • An in-depth understanding of affinity, loyalty, and handling customer data

  • Excellent knowledge of the marketing technology landscape

  • Expert in the use of MarTech software required for client projects

  • Ability to use HTML editors and data flow software, e.g. Visio

  • Demonstrable understanding of how to fix bugs in an efficient manner across campaign workflows

  • Understanding of budget and commercial elements attached to campaign plans

  • Ability to think laterally and identify opportunities to deliver more effective campaigns

  • Excellent communication & relationship building skills with both internal stakeholders & external, providing Campaign Management expertise and guidance to junior members of the team
