Saturday and sunday 8 hour contract
Regular working pattern Saturday OR Sunday, along with Derbyshire school holidays (Mon-Fri).
The Cafe Kitchen Assistant will be responsible for the operational running of the Cafe; reporting to managers; ordering stock, stock checks and delivering excellent customer service which includes working with a range of ages. You will be the type of Cafe Kitchen Assistant who enjoys leading from the front and engaging with members of the public and have the ability to motivate team members and the personality to create a fun and vibrant environment. You will be required to work a minimum of 4 hours a week over Saturday and Sundays. Weekday work is also available in the holiday period and covering annual leave.
Primary responsibilities:
- To work in close liaison with the Manager
- To develop and manage relationships with customers, staff and suppliers.
- To run all aspects of the daily running of the Café including food preparation, restocking and delivery of goods to the café in liaison with the Manager, ensuring its smooth running and proper administration.
- To contribute to the successful implementation of new cafe developments
- To be responsible to the Manager for specified administrative functions in connection with stock management, ordering and receiving product deliveries
- To learn all aspects of the till
- Prep and cook items on the menu in the correct procedure in accordance to EHO standards
- To acquaint himself/herself with current regulations relating to Health and Safety at Work, Food Handling and Hygiene Regulations, Fire Fighting equipment and precautions, restrictions on the Sale of Alcohol, medicines and drugs, certain age-restricted products, and relevant parts of the Shops' Acts.
- Cleaning and tidying of the Café and eating area
- Organising the clean down of all areas each night
- To deliver great customer satisfaction
- Reporting accidents and completing accident book
- Person specification
- An enthusiastic, positive attitude, excellent customer service skills, patient, reliable person and good with children. You will need to well organised and have a track recorded of reliability.
Relevant skills and experience:
Essential:
- Highly motivated individual who can motivate themselves and others around them
- Highly enthusiastic person who can enhance the customer experience and promote the brand as a brand ambassador
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate with a range of different individuals
- Experience in management of a café or took the daily roll of the food preparation
- Experience food ordering and stock taking experience
- must be over the age of 16 years
Desirable:
- First aid certificate desirable (but not essential as training will be provided)
- Health and hygiene certificate
- Communications skills: To be an excellent team player and to be able to work with all age groups
- IT skills: General knowledge of word, excel, PowerPoint and email package
- Using a computerised till (training will be given)
