A great opportunity for a Buying Assistant to join a leading promotional merchandise company in their London office. You will be assisting the buying team on developing and sourcing a range of bespoke branded products including washbags, electronics, and beauty accessories – which are gifted to customers alongside the purchase of the client’s retail products, to support one-off promotional activities.

Who we’re looking for:
- A Purchasing Coordinator / Buying Assistant to work as part of our experienced buying department on a variety of exciting briefs for a range of FMCG brands.
- Working with the in-house design and sales teams on product development from concept through to delivery.
- Knowledge of, or strong desire to learn about the end to end Buying process and to take responsibility for Critical Path Management for multiple orders.
- Assisting with client presentations cross functionally with sales team.
- Helping to manage and maintain strong relationships with current supplier base whilst bringing on new supply routes where possible.
- Negotiating costings and ensuring projects are delivered within budget.
- Writing detailed product specifications, quality expectations and purchase orders.
- Liaising with all departments to ensure projects are delivered to schedule.
- Following up with suppliers and updating team about any delays or problems.
- Staying up-to-date with industry and market trends, proposing new product ideas and innovations.
What you’ll need:
- Of graduate / higher education calibre.
- A can-do attitude and willingness to tackle a diverse array of tasks.
- 1 year’s previous experience would be an advantage, but not essential.
- A keen interest in consumer/promotional products as well as quality assurance and ethical sourcing from manufacturers in UK, EU, Turkey and Far East.
- Commercially aware.
- Good communication skills with the ability to build rapport.
- Enjoy working as part of a team, with good organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Microsoft packages (excel, word, powerpoint)
