WHAT TO EXPECT
This role is integral to the operation of House of Brands and will report directly to the Managing Director of the Range Rover brand.
This role will support the Managing Director and their team in all Business Management activities, leading and overseeing activities across the department with the aim of achieving all operational and strategic objectives. With business-wide exposure, this role will develop relationships with all stakeholders internally within the Commercial Organisation (including fellow Business Managers), as well as liaising with other Business Functions across JLR.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Supporting and securing the House of Brands delivery and transformation:
- Lead business management activities and related projects across the department in support of the Managing Director and their first line, ensuring deliverables meet the Commercial strategic objectives
- Develop and run cross-departmental governance processes and take the lead on departmental forums to manage activities and drive effective delivery and measurement
Operational support, Governance and Performance management:
- Oversee information requests from different parts of the business are handled efficiently and responded to promptly, in preparation for forums such as Commercial First Line, Refocus etc.
- Rollout and embed agile mindset and ways of working
- Maintain overall governance of House of Brands First Line forums
- Lead the coordination of information and development of presentation materials and scripts for the leadership team for management forums such as the BOM / Refocus / transformation QBRs / off-site meetings / All hands
- Through close collaboration with all areas of House of Brands, develop an understanding of the relevant operational and strategic topics and use these to propose relevant agenda items for reviews and reporting, defining what needs to be reviewed where and when for effective progress.
- Create minutes for meetings and forums and follow-up on agreed actions, ensuring a quality loop of progress and transparent reporting is in place
- Act as a guide on adherence to compliance of regulatory, audit or corporate processes across the department
- Lead on objectives setting and co-ordination across First Line
Ad-hoc Project and activity lead/support:
- Lead and support projects as and when necessary
- Undertake any other work as directed by the Managing Director
Represent House of Brand and link into JLR transformation:
- Representative for House of Brands in Refocus 2.0 discussions
- Manage and develop relationships with key stakeholders (i.e. Commercial business office), developing positive relationships, ensuring that service and process objectives are aligned and agreed
Build a winning team (people development and engagement)
- Alongside HRBP and the first line, ensure Brand teams are fully engaged, supported and operating with a sense of purpose
- Alongside HRBP and the first line, develop the culture of the department in line with Creators Code and JLR/House of Brands leadership values and ways of working
- Improve House of Brands PULSE scores in Employee Engagement Index & Performance Engagement Index
- Support HRBP in ensuring opportunities for upskilling capabilities are developed and available to create an effective working environment: i.e. Continued training in Agile/change management etc.
- Dedicated All Hands events
- Communications/Yammer updates to wider team
- Support the Champions Forum network, driving further engagement and ownership and follow-up of opportunities
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
As the Business Manager, you’ll need the following knowledge, skills and experience:
- Strong commercial business acumen
- Detailed knowledge of Project management and Change management – skills, tools and techniques
- Experience in setting up, coordinating and running complex Governance forums
- Data and analytical skill set, with experience in applying skills for headcount and financial management
- Experience of managing complex projects across multiple channels
- Strong business and commercial acumen
- Strong track record of successful Stakeholder Management, specifically the ability to confidently advise and influence senior stakeholders
- Evidence of leadership ability and interpersonal skills
- Experience of collaboration and cross functional team working
- Independent personality with a strong customer first mindset and the ability to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style
- Strong sense for leadership and team dynamics and the willingness to contribute to continuous improvements
- Very strong in MS Office suite: Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Working knowledge and experience of key business systems and processes
- Ability to write and develop bespoke Comms for engagement / updates (via different channels, incl. PowerPoint) from scratch
- Working knowledge and experience of key business systems and processes
- Relevant degree or experience required
