The Presales Consultant role is fundamental in these future plans. Our client is looking for solution consultants who can provide leadership and expertise during presales engagement. A combination of being well versed in presenting solutions to varied audiences as well as a hands-on technical knowledge to go wide and deep on solution positioning and delivery as part of sales cycles.
You will be an integral member of the presales team, in a role that comes with wide-ranging responsibilities. There’s a strong focus on collaboration, both with colleagues and with clients, partners, and prospects. You will be fully involved in meetings and presentations – dealing directly with clients up to C-suite level, as a technical subject matter expert in your field. Your ability to explain and document technical detail clearly will be particularly crucial.
As a Presales Consultant, you will be responsible for working with prospective customers to fully understand their business requirements and identify how these can be met by our clients software solutions alongside supporting the wider Presales and Sales Teams. You will prepare and conduct product presentations and demonstrations, effectively representing the software’s capabilities and it's relevance to the prospective client’s key objectives, and you will help answer RFP’s and RFI’s from a functional point of view.
In addition, you will feed back your observations from the market to our clients Delivery / Product Management and Product Marketing teams. Due to the nature of the role, you will need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment and support simultaneous sales campaigns as well as assist in the transition of newly won business to colleagues in professional services and support.
Alongside the above, thorough and accurate documentation of a client’s key business requirements and the ability to configure the software adequately to demonstrate its ability to meet these needs is a critical component of the position.
Your focus will be to align with our New Business Sales Executives and do everything in your power to demonstrate that our client is the right technical fit for suitable opportunities, helping to grow our success for winning new clients.

Key responsibilities
- Build strong and positive relationships with clients at various levels.
- Interpret customer’s requirements and define the most suitable solution for them.
- Implement our clients software to meet customer requirements.
- Understanding business and technical problems addressed by the product including business drivers, evolving business needs, deployment, integration, security etc.
- Assist the sales personnel in qualification of customer needs
- Demonstrations of solutions, both standard and tailored to prospects and existing customers
- Follow process for successful handover to Account Management including Statement of Work documents.
- Help ensure the customer is a referenceable site
- Strong alignment with Product Management and Delivery teams on roadmap and customer / prospect feedback
- Ensure that inter-team dependencies are communicated to the COO
- Responding to request for information / proposal documents
- Scoping and delivering Proof of Concept/Proof of Value engagements with prospects
- Build a library of technical reference bid material
- Supporting Marketing events – user conferences, trade shows, webinars, etc.
- Staying current on competitive analysis and understand how to best position our Pi solutions
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven track record in performing well in a fast pace environment and organisational skills to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines effectively.
- Exhibits prior and current technical expertise in BI technology and the ability to learn new technology
- Strong Pre-sales experience and mastery of the Sales process
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Superior presentation and facilitation skills.
- Ability to be outstanding in a client-focused environment.
- Educated to degree level or possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience within a presales / software environment
- Driving license and be willing to travel at short notice.
- Experience of implementing or using BI tools
- Skills: SQL PL/SQL (Databases Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, IBM, Sybase, MySQL, PostgesSQL) NoSQL (Hadoop, Amazon)
