Purpose of the Role


  • Our shared services teams play a central role in supporting the delivery of our business success. We are looking for a motivated individual who has an interest in Marketing, Supply Chain, Business Technology and Commercial services.
  • This role will be a 6-month rotation between the four department above.
  • This is a great opportunity for someone to kick start their career in the business world.

Principal Accountabilities


Business Technology Team


  • 1st and 2nd line support team – You will learn how we manage, troubleshoot and process incidents and requests using the ITIL Framework
  • Operations Manager – You will learn how we manage workflow, how we orchestrate ITSM and Change Management, and the monthly reporting cycle
  • Infosec Team – You will learn how we assess and defend against cyber threats, how we maintain our IT Risk Register, and how manage and maintain Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans
  • Programme Team – You will learn how we manage, execute, track and report on individual projects and the overarching annual Programme, and how we manage and plan resourcing
  • Software and License Manager – You will learn how we forecast and manage our operational budget
  • Infrastructure and Business Applications Teams – You will learn how we manage all aspects of the IT hardware (Cloud and on-prem servers and networking) and software systems and services required to run a commercial engineering business

Finance and Commercial


  • Bid governance:
    • Bid list updates.
    • Maintenance of sales analysis model.
    • Creation of bid commercial & commercial finance review packs.
  • Working alongside bid teams to assist in the modelling & creation of bid financials (but not limited to):
    • P&L analysis.
    • Cashflow, negative cash implications and break-even.
    • Revenue Recognition (IFRS15).
    • Scenario Analysis.
  • Pricing:
    • Assisting in the maintenance of the HPC price model.
    • Understanding bid submission pricing.
  • Contracts and their impact on bid financial submissions.
  • Market research including:
    • General market overviews & intelligence.
    • Business unit specific market research (motorsport/ automotive/ transport).


Marketing


  • Creating, delivering, and measuring email marketing campaigns to external audiences including product updates and customer campaigns, using our email platform and CRM system.
  • Website updating utilising our Content Management System (CMS) including search engine optimisation content-related tasks and Google Analytics reporting.
  • Supporting event planning and logistics including liaising with event organisers and agencies, to ensure branding is correct and the right products, materials and collateral are at events.
  • Writing and proof reading blogs, articles and content created for publication digitally or in publications.
  • Salesforce data entry, management, reporting and marketing administration.
  • Attending events such as conferences, seminars, exhibitions and receptions.

Supply Chain


  • Deliver on achieving the lowest total cost through negotiation, value engineering, supplier reduction and supplier consolidation.
  • Lead on the selection of suppliers in compliance with the McLaren Applied sourcing process whilst ensuring selection is robust and fit for purpose.
  • Support negotiations of all terms and conditions in line with our business practices to achieve best price and quality.
  • Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation plans in order to secure business continuity.
  • Support new product development in a project driven environment. Maintaining suitable updates to project deliverables.
  • Manage a programme of supplier and sourcing reviews, monitoring suppliers’ performance on cost, quality, delivery, and contract compliance.
  • Maintain and build business relationships with suppliers to ensure delivery schedules are achieved and favourable terms are agreed with the supplier to suit business needs.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience


  • A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Management or an equivalent area.
  • Be an ambitious self-starter who enjoys the challenges of a fast-paced and complex environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills, the ability to drive change and results and a clear potential for inspiring other
