RESEARCH ANALYST
Creative UKis the independent network for the UK Creative Industries, and we know that connection changes everything. We have an exciting opportunity for an early career researcher with an interest in the cultural and creative industries to join our Policy & Engagement team. The ideal candidate will have excellent research and analytical skills with a keen interest in bringing a fresh perspective to the impact we can make across the creative sector. You should have a strong interest in, and passion for, the sector and will act as a key advisor to the Research & Policy Manager, Director of Policy & Engagement, and wider leadership team.
This is a varied and interesting role for someone keen to sharpen their skills, broaden their experience in the research and policy arena and help drive change within a developing function.
LOCATION: UK-Wide, hybrid working available with offices in MediaCityUK, Bristol and Central London.
CONTRACT: Full time for an initial 1-year fixed term with scope to become permanent

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Undertaking and contributing to research including to:
· Collate, analyse, and present qualitative and quantitative research, clearly conveying complex research and data analysis in clear and accessible writing
· Contribute to design and delivery of original primary and secondary research
· Source and gather research reports and data to feed into evidence gathering for Creative UK policy and research work
· Identify initiatives, organisations and policies across the creative industries which are creating impact and change in areas which align with our policy priorities
· Research and monitor policy developments and gather data from across the cultural and creative industries domestically and internationally
· Supporting colleagues in the preparation of reports and proposals, contributing to external facing presentations and reports
Provide project, event and administrative support, such as:
· Arranging research interviews, focus groups workshops and surveys with Creative UK members and other stakeholders from across the cultural and creative industries
· Coordinating and supporting events and meetings in which insight gathering is key
· Drafting a range of communication outputs for a range of audiences, including submissions to the UK Government (informal and formal consultation responses), Creative UK member policy and advocacy updates, the CEO’s newsletter and political briefings
Content creation, including:
· Supporting organisational data collection, analysis and coordination
·
· Collating and organising policy and research summaries, findings and reports into accessible library resources for both Creative UK and member organisations
· Proof-reading, editing and quality assuring Creative UK communication outputs
· Coordinating design, delivery and analysis of Creative UK qualitative and quantitative inputs and outputs
· Writing reports, case studies and other communication outputs

PERSON SPECIFICATION
· Confidence in using a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods in pragmatic ways
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with close attention to detail for quality design, analysis and outputs
· Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
· Ability to work independently, managing and prioritising workload and juggle competing deadlines
· Ability to contribute and collaborate as part of a wider team, within the function, wider organisation and external stakeholders
· Ability to research, assimilate and explain to others new and often complex areas of information, including data and policy instruments such as legislation.
· Strong grounding in software, including Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and research and/or data tools
· Interest in UK and international politics and the creative industries
· Willingness to travel, sometimes outside office hours
