Post Title:

Lunchtime Supervisor

Location:

Duke Aldridge Academy

Purpose:

To supervise student and staff welfare in the Purple Diner during lunchtimes, ensure a pleasant and safe environment is maintained

Reporting to:

Site Manager

Working time:

Mon – Fri 11am– 14.30pm Term Time Only

Salary:

Scale 1, point 1 - 3 (£23,457 - £24,012 FTE); £9,504 - £9,729 pro rata

Responsibilities:

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To supervise students in the Purple Diner during lunch time duties
  • To supervise the entry of pupils to the dining room and their behavior whilst they collect their meals, find a seat and eat.
  • To supervise, when necessary, the returning and stacking of plates.
  • In the event of any spillage, to take necessary action immediately to avoid possible accidents.
  • Ensure all tables are kept clean. After children have returned to their classrooms.
  • To support the Catering Team with lunchtime service, washing up and keeping the Purple Diner clean and tidy
  • To undertake ancillary duties as necessary (i.e. setting up and clearing away tables, cleaning tables and dining area).
  • To ensure the health, safety and welfare of students and staff in the Purple Diner during lunch time

Other Duties:

To undertake other duties consistent with the scope of the post and within the competence of the post-holder as required.

To undertake a duty as appropriate.

To have due regard for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and to follow the child protection procedures adopted by the school.

1* General Responsibilities Common to All Staff*

1.1 To be part of the school’s duty rota as required, including supervision during the lunch period, but such that the post holder has a lunch break of at least 30 minutes

1.2 To promote positive student conduct. To confront negative student conduct and take appropriate steps to deal with it.
