International Sales/Business Development Manager – UK Marine Business
An exciting opportunity to join a world-leading Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specializing in high-end marine systems for the luxury yacht, commercial ship, and military ship market sectors. Position Description
Naiad Dynamics UK Limited (ND) is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to work form our leading European office. The ideal candidate will have direct B2B experience working in the marine industry in a technical sales capacity, or as a customer facing naval architect or chartered engineer. We are seeking a self-starter who has strong technical and customer service skills, while being a part of and collaborating with our global sales and applications team.
Responsibilities
- Work with vessel designers and customers to provide solutions for improved seakeeping.
- Promote ND brand and product awareness and reputation; seek out and develop sales opportunities, stimulate customer inquiries and secure profitable ND product orders.
- Help assess vessel and shipbuilder motion control requirements, run in-house seakeeping simulation tools and produce reports and/or support ND’s internal applications team in determining most suitable ND product offering.
- Prepare and issue professional quotations, assess competitive environment, negotiate and secure orders/contracts.
- Build sustainable company-focused working relationships with Owners, Shipyards, Naval Architects, Captains and other crew, Brokers and all decision-makers and influencers.
- Help identify opportunities for business improvement, including potentially influencing product design and development.
- Collaborate with ND’s International sales and applications team to maximize Group sales.
- International travel as necessary to attend sales meetings at key customer accounts and prospective customers primarily within Europe/worldwide as appropriate.
- Attend and support ND sales efforts at international trade shows, conferences and exhibitions.
- Prepare sales reports, visit reports, market assessment reports and presentations.
- Maintain Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database and quote log.
- Support forecasting and budgeting processes.
- Other duties reasonably assigned by management.
Candidate Requirements
- B2B marine sector knowledge, preferably in a technical sales capacity.
- Bachelor’s degree in naval architecture, marine, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or reasonably equivalent technical qualification.
- 5 – 10 years of experience in a B2B capacity within the marine industry.
- Prior experience in vessel seakeeping assessment by computer simulation or model testing is highly beneficial.
- Aptitude and general understanding of product based systems, including electronic, software, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Business acumen and professionalism.
- Professional and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience operating in an ISO 9001 registered business.
