An exciting opportunity has arisen for two full time Business Support Assistants to join Bristol City Council’s Community Learning Team.
Bristol Community Learning engages with people who have significant barriers to learning and work. We help raise confidence whilst developing skills and knowledge so learners can progress to further learning and work. We have high aspirations for those we work with and are committed to providing a wide range of courses developed to meet our learners’ needs. Along with high-quality teaching, we are passionate about achieving the best possible outcomes to help our learners succeed.
To achieve this, we rely on our Business Operations Team who liaise with and support all Adult and Community Learning stakeholders. This includes, learners, development workers, tutors, team leaders and the Adult and Community Learning manager.
Your role will be to contribute to a range of administrative and financial support services in Adult and Community Learning, for example preparing and providing documentation and information for staff and learners.
You will be responding to enquiries from internal and external customers and stakeholders, using Bristol City Council systems, policies and procedures. Therefore, the ideal candidate will be confident with both administrative and financial tasks. As a team we demonstrate the council’s values of dedication, respect, ownership, curiosity and collaboration.
The offices need to have a Business Support Assistant presence 5 days a week from 8:30am to 5:00pm and so the post holder will need to be able to work from the office at least 4 days a week.
The main office is at the Park Centre in South Bristol, which has a community café and ample parking.
Please note that this role is subject to an Standard DBS Check.

For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.
