Are you an experienced and reliable driver who takes environmental safety seriously? Do you know your way around hazardous waste regulations and want to make a difference? We're looking for a skilled ADR Hazardous Waste Driver to join our awesome and gorwing team at AA Waste Solutions
What you'll do:
- Safely transport hazardous waste materials, following ADR (European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road) regulations.
- Make sure the vehicle (long wheelbase van) is in tip-top shape and all safety equipment is good to go by doing pre-trip inspections.
- Load and unload prepacked hazardous waste materials like a pro, using proper handling procedures. (Barrels and Boxes)
- Stick to assigned routes and schedules, while obeying traffic laws and being an all-around responsible driver.
- Keep accurate records of shipments, including manifests and other necessary documents, mostly done electronically.
- Communicate like a champ with dispatchers, team members, and clients to keep things running smoothly and keep everyone happy. This is a big one!
- Follow all company policies, local, and EA hazardous waste regulations because we don't cut corners when it comes to safety.
- Sometimes there may be nights away whilst on certain routes
- You’ll be happy to know this is not multidrop work, so not in and out the van every few minutes.
What you'll need:
- Full, clean UK driving licence with an ADR endorsement.
- At least 2 years of experience as an ADR Hazardous Waste Driver.
- Awesome driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Solid knowledge of ADR regulations and how to handle hazardous waste like a pro.
- Familiarity with storing, loading, and unloading hazardous materials the right way.
- The ability to work independently, think on your feet with a level of assertiveness.
- Great attention to detail and a deep commitment to safety.
- Good communication skills because we all need to get along and work together.
- Physical fitness because this job might involve heavy lifting and operating equipment.
