BUILDING MANAGER / RENT FREE ACCOMMODATION PROVIDED / BRIGG / PERMANENT / FULL TIME / MONDAY TO FRIDAY
£18,500 / FREE ACCOMMODATION (recently decorated 2 BED ENSUITE APARTMENT) / PLUS COUNCIL TAX PAID
Residential Management Group is a large, established, market leading property management company and we are recruiting a live-in Building Manager who will enhance residents’ quality of life, by helping to create a warm and friendly environment and by being as helpful, polite and courteous as possible through the fulfilment of the building manager duties.
You’ll be based at Anchome Mews, Brigg, DN20 8BF - over 55’s independent living accommodation, where you will also have your own 2 bedroom, en suite apartment.
You’ll be working 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday; 9am-5pm, with flexibility to deal with emergencies outside of these hours.

As the Building Manager, you’ll be the ‘face’ of the building, greeting residents, visitors and contractors, undertaking safety checks (fire door and fire alarm checks) and meter readings.
What are some of the other things I will be doing?
- Professionally manage the over 55’s independent living development, with daily monitoring of residents’ wellbeing. NB: you are not required to provide nursing or personal care to residents.
- Answering residents’ enquiries, in a pleasant and friendly manner.
- Undertake and record weekly fire safety checks, and ensure heating and lighting is working correctly.
- Undertake minor maintenance activities and carry out basic maintenance works where appropriate eg changing light bulbs.
- Maintain adequate stock of cleaning materials and other items (eg light bulbs and other site related equipment).
- Collect payment in respect of guest suite bookings.
- Ensure all common areas - internal and external - are regularly inspected and remain clean and tidy and in good repair; litter picking external and car park areas.
- Monitor the appropriate service and maintenance contracts for all building services, facilities and installations.
What skills and experience are we looking for?
A friendly positive ‘can-do’ and flexible work attitude; there may be the occasion you’ll need to deal with an out of hours emergency; however non-urgent queries should be dealt with in your working day and not in your personal time.
- Excellent customer service skills, with previous experience within a customer facing customer service role
- Confident communicator with excellent communication skills
- Proven ability to solve problems with diplomacy, empathy and patience
- Able to complete administrative tasks using relevant IT systems
- Experience in a similar role is desirable
