Trainee Building Information Modelling(BIM) Technician – Apprenticeship 2023 – Leavesden

What will you be doing?
As a Trainee BIM Technician, you will join our BIM and Digital Engineering team, where we will make it our ambition to prepare you for a successful and rewarding career in digital Construction.
You will work alongside experienced digital and construction professionals, and together, you will be responsible for creating and managing information on a construction project through using various technologies and BIM (Building Information Modelling) software.
Throughout your apprenticeship, you will learn how to do the following tasks:
Use digital platforms such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and ReCAP.- Understand how to create visual reporting using tables, charts, graphs and other more sophisticated visualisation tools such as PowerBi.
- Capitalise on insights through Internet of Things.
- Understand internal and external customer relationships and partnerships.
- Utilise Virtual Reality environment tools.
- Other exciting skills within BIM and Digitalisation
You will learn to develop safe and cost-effective engineering solutions that meet the needs of our clients, ensuring that all relevant technical, health, safety and environmental standards are satisfied.
What qualification will you be studying towards?
Initially, you will be studying a Level 3 Digital Engineering Technician qualification in a local nominated college. Here is a link to the apprenticeship standard:

We will encourage you to progress on to a Level 6 (degree) qualification upon successful completion of Level 3.
Where will you be working?
You will be based in our brand-new head office in Watford (right next to Harry Potter World). You will occasionally be required to visit to our construction sites. After your initial training period, you may be able to work from home if that is what you wish to do on one or two days per week.
You will be part of our piling and foundations division, where we provide internationally recognised geotechnical engineering solutions to the UK construction industry and beyond. We have brought new ideas and technology to projects like HS2, Crossrail, Northern Line Extension, 21 Moorfields, ESS Lund and the Amsterdam Metro. As part of our global community of experts, you will be working on some of the world’s most exciting engineering projects.
What will we need from you?
Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grades 4-9 including Maths and English, or their equivalent.- You should enjoy working with other people
- Enthusiasm to learn and pro-active approach to work
- Keen interest in emerging digital technologies
- Comfortable with learning new software platforms
- New ideas to help us innovate and work better
