Ideal World are seeking a Broadcast Engineer to join their busy live studios team
ABOUT US
Ideal World are the award winning shopping TV channel devoted to lifestyle brands, homewares and luxury shopping. Our channel is live for up to 19 hours each day broadcasting onto Freeview, Freesat, Sky and Virgin TV platforms, as well as being broadcast on our website.
Our fun and interactive live shows feature limited time deals, client partnerships and a broad variety of product strands and categories. The channel has been on air for over 20 years from our studios based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
THE ROLE
You will report to the Head of Technical Operations, working as a member of the Broadcast Engineering team. This role requires the Engineer to be an active problem solver and to follow due maintenance procedures, whilst completing first line equipment repairs and new studio install and setups. You can expect a varied days work.
THE CANDIDATE
Applicants should have a strong technical background and a be adaptable. Live broadcast studio experience is desirable as is a familiarity with shopping TV.
We are willing to consider any applicant with relevant experience in a trainee position on a six-month probationary basis.
We are seeking someone with strong verbal and written communication skills, a positive attitude and a person who thrives under pressure. The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate problem solving abilities and possess quick decision making skills.
POSITION DETAILS
The TV teams work a 12.5 hour day on a rotating 7 days per fortnight shift pattern. There will also be occasional opportunity to work on our overnight maintenance sessions.
Salary will be offered dependant to experience.
