PRIMARY PURPOSE:
As an Apprentice Bartender, you will be responsible for assisting the bartender and maintaining the appearance of the bar. You will also set the stage for the guest experience with your welcoming smile and service. By understanding their unique stories and needs, you will own their experience to create WOW memories they will carry with them far and beyond their stay with us.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the bartender with the preparation of drinks, mixes, and garnishes.
Maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance of the bar area.
Maintain sufficient stock of all items and products in designated work areas.
Ensure proper setup, labeling, stocking, and delivery of alcohol, non-alcoholic beverages, supplies, glasses, paper products, garnishes, and ice.
Clean equipment, tools, and supplies, polish glassware, and ensure equipment is in working order.
Perform opening and closing duties based on shift assignment.
Promote and maintain the highest level of service to all guests while staying alert to their needs and respond effectively to guest inquiries.
Resolve guest complaints within the scope of authority; otherwise, refer the matter to management, and notify the supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Knowledgeable of menu items, including mixing and serving beverages, standard beverage recipes, preparation methods, glassware, garnishes, products, menu items, supplies, and equipment.
Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Knowledgeable of computers and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms.
Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
PREFERRED:
High school diploma or equivalent.
One (1) year of experience as an apprentice bartender working in a similar resort setting.
Money handling experience.
Experience working in a similar resort setting.
