Student Marketing Executive

We’re searching for a high energy, commercial minded Student Marketing Executive to join our Marketing team to help mold LOVESPACE into the largest and preferred storage supplier for students in the UK.

From day one, you will contribute to existing marketing activity, while assisting with the development of new initiatives aligned with the company goals. Your remit will cover lots of channels, from social media management to building relationships with key partners.

The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker, full of ideas about how we can better reach students across the UK. You’ll need to be proactive in seeking out insights about our target market and seeking out opportunities for growth. In addition to that, you need to be an organised multitasker able to handle several projects at once and meet tight deadlines, as well as a top class communicator able to produce quality written content with creative flair.

Any relevant prior experience will be a bonus, including communications, advertising, branding, digital marketing, and social media, but is not essential. We’ll collect almost anything our customers want to store, keep it all securely, then return it anywhere in the UK, as soon as the next day. Or they can drop off their stuff at one of our fully automated drop-off locations. We also offer home and business removals nationwide.

Objectives of this Role

  • Take the reins on our social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn from proposing and creating new content, to building a plan to grow key channels, to managing customer comments/dms.
  • Manage new and existing partnerships with key institutions, such as universities, private student accommodation, boarding schools and more, supported by our Partnerships Manager.
  • Seek insights about the market to provide research and understand our performance to provide further insights into student behaviour and consumer trends throughout the academic year which may affect the marketing strategy.
  • Identify opportunities for growth within the student segment. This will require regular trips out of the office to spot opportunities, meet with potential partners and introduce them to LOVESPACE to pitch our services.
  • Ensure all marketing efforts serve to achieve immediate and long-term business goals, identifying and executing improvements for processes, content, and lead generation.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Represent the brand across all channels, including but not limited to managing all social media channels.
  • Execute against marketing plans, delivering campaigns across both off- and online channels.
  • Identify and build relationships with student affiliates that may find it beneficial to partner with us including but not limited to university societies, sports teams and local businesses.
  • Conduct research to analyse market trends, current affairs, customer behaviour, and competitive landscape, and prepare reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising data
  • Support the rest of the Marketing team in evaluating and establishing the marketing plan and strategy by assembling and analysing sales forecasts, setting objectives, planning and organizing promotional presentations.
  • Organize, manage and attend events organised with external partners.
  • Monitor all competitor activity – both local and national to ensure LOVESPACE are always offering the best possible prices for student customers.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a 2:1.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Some knowledge of traditional and digital marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing.
  • Proficiency in full Microsoft Office suite, especially with Excel and PowerPoint. A bonus if you have experience in design platforms such as Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop or Figma.
  • Past work experience within a marketing team or similar role would be a bonus, but is not essential!
