UHB is one of the leading NHS Foundation Trusts in the UK. The 90m Heartlands Treatment Centre is now fully operational. This purpose-built centre provides world-class facilities to accommodate Interventional Radiology, together with multimodality facilities.
We are looking for enthusiastic, kind and highly motivated specialist radiographers to join our friendly and supportive team within interventional radiology following expansion of staffing across sites. These posts will be primarily based on either QEH site or the HGS sites.
This is an exciting opportunity for either an existing Band 6 or a Band 5 Radiographer. If candidates have minimal or no previous experience in this specialty there are opportunities to train at band 5 level, progressing to band 6 upon completion of appropriate competencies. Full training, support, mentorship and supervision will be provided. You must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Main duties, tasks & skills required
The successful candidate will rotate through the Cardiac catheter labs, Interventional Radiology Theatres and Vascular Hybrid Theatre (Heartlands Hospital) whilst maintaining their established radiographic skills.
Interest in Interventional Radiology and Cardiac catheter lab is essential. You must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn. You will need the ability to work under pressure with a flexible approach to working time. Being sympathetic, caring and the ability to work within a team are essential.
Participation in the out of hours 24/7 on call service including weekends and bank holidays is essential.
It is important that you are able to work autonomously and are able to work flexibly within the different multi-disciplinary teams using your clinical expertise to provide a quality service.
To organise and prioritise workload as required, in a specialised modality area taking into account the patients' clinical condition and the imaging request, in a safe and efficient manner.
Specialist radiographers with appropriate clinical experience will be encouraged to undertake IV injections where there is a service need
To record data concerning the patients' examination, in line with IRMER 2017 legislation and factors relating to the patients clinical condition, and details of drugs administered during the course of the patient's examination.
