BHRUT currently have a range of exciting full or part time opportunities for Band 5 Nurses within the Specialist Medicine / Geriatrics & Frailty Division.
We welcome applications from nurses whether you are newly qualified, new to the NHS, or an experienced nurse looking to develop and gain new experience. We have expanded our Stroke Services and have excellent opportunities in Hyper Acute, Stroke, TIA and Stroke Rehabilitation. We have dynamic, forward thinking and progressive Cardiology, Respiratory and General Medical Departments. BHRUT is the regional Centre for Neurosciences with an excellent reputation in Neurology and Neurosurgery. We have a dedicated and dynamic multidisciplinary team who maintain the highest quality and standards of care to our community.
We also have excellent nursing opportunities in our Geriatrics and Frailty units, providing high quality care and a comprehensive range of services for the elderly population of NE London. These include emergency admissions, general and specialist rehabilitation, as well as a range of outpatient services including day hospital and frailty clinics. This post is for a qualified nurse who wants to further their experience and skills in nursing. The post holder will be expected to demonstrate good clinical skills and will be responsible for individualised care of patients. They should be able to assist with education and supervision of learners. Be able to supervise and co-ordinate other staff as appropriate. Take charge of the ward or department in the absence of the person who has continuing responsibility.
Under the leadership of our Chair, Jacqui Smith and Matthew Trainer, our Chief Executive we provide care for the residents of three diverse London boroughs. More than half of our 7,500 strong workforce are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups and most live in Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge. We also provide healthcare services to people in south west Essex, and specialist neurosciences services to the whole of the county.
Our services include all the major specialties of large acute hospitals, operating from two main sites - King George Hospital in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford. We also provide outpatient services at Brentwood Community Hospital, Barking Hospital, Loxford Polyclinic and Harold Wood Polyclinic.
As we recover from Covid-19, we’re proud to be leading the way in reducing the time our patients wait to get the treatment they need. The pandemic provided the drive for our teams to innovate and change.
We know we have more work to do to improve waiting times for urgent and emergency care, and this will be one of the many benefits of our closer collaboration with Barts Health. Working with them and with all our partners across north east London, we will find a sustainable solution to enhance patient care.
