My client is a Legal 500 recognised law firm, who specialise in high-quality legal services and is looking for a Senior Immigration Solicitor (ideally with + c.3 years PQE) to join their successful Immigration team. The successful candidate will ideally possess a good working knowledge of Skilled Worker visa applications, Sponsor Licence management & compliance. The candidate must have practical working experience in servicing a diverse range of clients, from start-ups to FTSE 250 companies.

As a qualified solicitor specializing in UK immigration law, your key responsibilities would include:
  • Providing expert legal advice and representation: You will be responsible for offering professional guidance and representation to clients in various aspects of UK immigration law, such as visa applications and appeals. This involves assessing clients' circumstances, analyzing applicable laws and regulations, and formulating effective legal strategies.
  • Maintaining high standards: It is crucial to ensure that all your work is executed to the highest standard. This entails thorough research, accurate documentation, meticulous case preparation, and adherence to ethical and professional guidelines.
  • Building client relationships and reputation: Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients is essential. By delivering exceptional service and achieving positive outcomes, you will contribute to building a strong reputation for the Manchester office in the field of immigration law. Satisfied clients may also refer your services to others, further enhancing the office's reputation.
  • Staying updated with immigration law and policy: Immigration law is subject to frequent changes and updates. It is your responsibility to stay current with developments in immigration law and policy, ensuring that your advice and representation to clients are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with the latest regulations.
  • Managing complex immigration cases: You will handle a caseload of complex immigration cases, which require careful attention to detail and a comprehensive understanding of the relevant legal frameworks. Efficient case management, timely completion of tasks, and meeting strict deadlines are vital aspects of this responsibility.
  • Collaborating with colleagues: Working collaboratively with colleagues across the firm is essential to provide clients with the best possible service. In terms of candidate requirements, you should possess the following:
  • Qualified solicitor with significant experience: You should be a qualified solicitor with a minimum of three years of post-qualification experience (3 PQE) in UK immigration law. This experience equips you with the necessary expertise to handle complex immigration cases effectively.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK immigration law and policy: A strong understanding of UK immigration law, including relevant legislation, regulations, and policies, is crucial for providing accurate advice and representation. Staying updated with changes in the field is essential.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills: Proficiency in legal research, analysis, and interpretation of complex legal documents is vital. These skills enable you to identify applicable laws, precedents, and case studies, supporting your arguments and strategies.
