This is a Fixed term post for 6 months
A full time, fixed term (6 months) band 5 assistant psychologist is required for Specialist Learning Disability Inpatient Services within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. The post holder will support and enhance the psychological care of clients within the service by providing psychological intervention and assessment under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist. In addition, they will work independently according to an agreed plan and within the overall framework of the service policies and procedures. The post holder will be involved in preparing material for therapy sessions, delivering a range of psychological therapies, attending case conferences and multi-disciplinary meetings and liaising with other professionals. Other responsibilities may involve psychometric assessment, audits, service evaluation, and assisting the work of clinical psychologists and other professionals working in the service. Positive Behavioural Support is the primary model used in the service therefore prior experience in using this way of working with individuals who have a learning disability would be an advantage. Prior experience in clinical risk assessments would also be of benefit. Applicants should have a First or Upper Second Class Honours degree (or equivalent) in Psychology with Graduate Basis for Registration with the British Psychological Society.
